New York University Federal Credit Union's Scholarship Program has been established to recognize, reward and help make possible the pursuit of higher education by NYU FCU members.

We want to know: What does the Credit Union Movement mean to YOU? The Credit Union Movement is rooted in the philosophy of people helping people. It’s about financial empowerment, community connection, and making a difference, together.

After exploring the history and values of the Credit Union Movement, what does the Movement mean to you personally?

Based on your understanding, design a new credit union product, service, or initiative that reflects the Movement’s core principles—such as financial empowerment, inclusivity, or community impact.

Explain how your idea supports the Movement’s mission and describe how it would benefit the people who use it.

Eligibility

​

• Eligibility is open to all NYU FCU members in good standing (excluding NYU FCU employees, Directors, Committee Members and their immediate families).

• The applicant must be a member of NYU FCU in good standing

• The applicant must be attending an accredited 2 or 4 year college, university, or other institution of higher learning during the Fall semester on a full-time basis

• Scholarship funds are available for Undergraduate students only

• Scholarship funds must be used on tuition, room and board, books, school supplies, etc.

The 2025 Scholarship round application opens July 21, 2025, and the deadline to submit is September 8, 2025 at 11:59pm EST.

All eligible applications and essays will be evaluated by the credit union's scholarship committee.
