Par value of a share is $50. This amount must be maintained in the regular share account at all times in order to remain a member of this credit union.

Dividends on regular share are compounded and credited on a quarterly basis. The average daily balance method is used to calculate dividends. The average daily balance is determined by adding the balance in the account for each day of the period and dividing that amount by the number of days in the period. This credit union will use the full balance in the account for calculation whether deposits are made by cash or check. If you close your account before your accrued dividends are credited, you will not be paid any dividends for that period.

CHECK 21

Check 21  has come to the NYUFCU to better serve you and to comply with newer federal banking standards!  As of October 2007, the credit union has implemented this federally-legislated system of processing checks electronically. What that means for the credit inion is that it can deposit member’s checks quicker, more efficiently, and at a lower cost.

What that means for you, our shareholders, is that your checks will be electronically cleared faster and, when you access your account on-line, you will not only be able to tell that a particular check has been cleared, you now will also be able to see a picture image of the canceled check (both front and back sides) when it clears.  This is called a :substitude check”, and it will include the required statement: “ This is a legal copy of your check. You can use it the same way you would use the original check”.

Through Check 21, such substitude checks will be accessible to you immediately and any time you may need them without having to wait for your paper canceled checks. You can use it for proof of payment, including for purposes of IRS.  However, if for any reason, you need to have your paper canceled check, the NYUFCU will make that available to you.

Check 21  contains a number of state and federal safeguards for customers, and it legally protects you against errors in your account or unauthorized check payments.

What you should know about your checks.
